There will be a new railway line between Divača and the port of Koper. The connection is a constituent part of the railway line of the intermodal corridor in the area of the Ionian/Adriatic Sea and part of the Trans-European Network (TEN).
The upper part of the route mostly runs in carbonate rocks, while the route between the southern portal of T1 tunnel and the northern portal of T2 tunnel runs through flysch rocks. The route of T2 tunnel continues in carbonate rocks to the portal at Črni Kal, where it enters the flysch area. The final part of the line runs along the alluvial sediments of the Rižana River.
We studied the area between the southern portal of T1 tunnel and the planned branch of the railway line towards Trieste (section A) the area of tunnels T4 and T6 (section B). The purpose of the geological and geotechnical research was to provide project parameters for the planned buildings. Data was obtained by field and laboratory research.
