The construction of Stožice, the largest sports centre in Slovenia, was completed in 2010, when the sports hall and stadiums were handed over for use.
Work on the other parts of the sports centre – the underground retail area (134,250 m2), three levels of underground parking (91,600 m2) and the park area (123,000 m2) – were interrupted in 2010 and have remained incomplete to the present day.
Twelve years after the completion of the works, the client wanted to check the technical condition of the civil works, installations, fire safety and the external layout of the unfinished part of the sports centre.
We and our partners carried out a detailed inspection of the facility. We used an innovative web-based platform to systematically enter and store all the technical information and overview (descriptions, comments, photos). The web environment, which was uploaded with floor plans of all unfinished levels and rooms of the sports centre, was divided into a network of about 600 zones, which ensured a unique entry of the inspection data of all construction disciplines for each individual zone.
The result of the collected data was a common overview report, supported by reports that provided the client with comprehensive information on the state of the facility.
Our job was to coordinate the due diligence between the partners and to prepare the joint due diligence report as well as to be responsible for the inspection and the analysis of the building structures.
