The existing building consisted of two separated dilatations. The administrative part with a basement, a ground floor and two upper floors with floor dimensions 18.0 x 46.0 m and the storage part of the building with a basement, a ground floor and one upper floor with floor dimensions 42.0 x 46.0 m. The height of the administrative part of the building from the ground to the ridge was approx. 14.0 m, and the storage area height was approx. 9.5 m. After the reconstruction, the floor plans and the height of the building remained unchanged. The existing building was designed as a prefabricated reinforced-concrete structure with columns in a 6.0 x 11.5 m raster, through which prestressed beams and prefabricated plates were laid.
During the reconstruction, a new steel floor was constructed in the existing storage facility. In addition to the new steel floor construction, a new interior staircase along the east facade wall was carried out, the reconstruction of the outer staircase for the northern part of the building and the increase in the installation platforms on the roof. In the administrative part of the building, a new staircase was built with an elevator shaft. The central staircase was removed and replaced by a new reinforced-concrete communication core. On the south side of the building, a new roof with an entrance staircase was build.
With new interventions, loads on the existing structures were not generally increased, except in some local areas, where the increase in the load was solved by the implementation of new supports (walls, columns and beams).
Due to the inadequate earthquake resistance of the building, new evenly distributed concrete walls were implemented along the periphery of the building.
