Project documentation included resurfacing of the road on A2 Karavanke–Obrežje highway on section 0608 Kranj V–Brnik from km 1.000 to km 3.880 and on section 0609 Brnik–Vodice from km 0.000 to km 1.190. The results of a road study have shown that the road is worn off on the sections in question and that resurfacing having a thickness of 4 cm is needed, at the same time both the hard shoulder for emergency stop and the overtaking lane at a length of approx. 1000 m need to be replaced. Following the new Rules on road design, the deceleration/acceleration lane needed extension and broadening. A longitudinal profile of the highway had to be set, wherein the building technology dictated the minimal and maximal thickness of resurfacing. New steel crash barriers with adequate protection levels were foreseen. There are also four underpasses on this section, on which joints and hydro insulation had to be remedied. Resurfacing of the highway also included a design for resurfacing of the entire access point Brnik at a length of 3,400 m.
