As the existing shopping centre in the area of the commercial centre Ljubljana–Rudnik was exposed to subsidence, the investor decided to have a new commercial building erected in compliance with the Lidl brand standardisation.
A reinforced-concrete construction was executed. It consists of prefabricated columns anchored into cup-like foundations and I-supports, walls, and a foam concrete filler. Only the awning above the entrance and the sub-structure of facade panels were made of steel profiles. The entire building has pile foundations because this is the area of the Ljubljana moors having a ground of poor carrying capacity.
