The footbridge is part of the colonial settlement at Ig and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which interprets prehistory through the placement and design. The museum consist of the access route and the necessary accompanying infrastructure.
The footbridge over the Ischica River is located at the end of the nature trail and before the entrance to the colonial settlement.
It is designed as a wooden free-bearing structure, of which the main load-bearing function is performed by two glued beams 18,3 m long. The beams are supported on reinforced concrete edge abutments, which are founded on embedded timber piles. Architecturally designed cladding is installed on the outside of the beams.
