The purpose of a fish ladder is to adjust the running power plant Lawamünd/Drau to the requirements of Regulation renovation of Carinthia Restore water continuum KW and restoring the water continuum of the Drava river.
The total length of the fish ladder Lawamünd is 300 m with the height difference of 9.62 m and an average gradient of approx. 3.2%.
The total length of the fish ladder Schwabegg is 635 m with the height difference of 20.54 m and an average gradient of approx. 3.2%.
The construction of the fish ladder is made in situ out of reinforced concrete on the narrow left bank of the Drava river and goes through the existing power plants fish ladder. The walls of the construction are also part of the foreseen flood protection wall.
During the execution, the complete protection of the excavation pit was designed.
