The complex consists of three independent buildings: building FRI houses a Faculty of Computer and Information Science, building FKKT houses a Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, while building X represents common areas. Building X connects both faculties in the first floor via balconies.
Buildings FRI and FKKT are designed as monolithic reinforced-concrete constructions, while building X is designed as a skeleton steel construction due to its architectural design and geometry.
Building FRI has ground floor dimensions of approx. 110 x 25 m, building FKKT has ground floor dimensions of approx. 90 x 65 m, they have a basement, a ground floor + 3 floors, while building X has ground floor dimensions of approx. 60 x 25 m and has a basement + ground floor + 2 floors.
All buildings are founded on deep foundations on Benotto piles due to poor carrying capacity of the foundation ground and due to huge anticipated differential subsidence.
The basement storeys and the ground floor of building FRI provide room for parking spaces and servicing rooms, while upper floors are occupied by classrooms, laboratories and other common areas of the faculties. The intermediate building X has a central entrance to both faculties, a canteen, a book shop, a library and a lecture theatre.
