TRAC’s business and production facility, COC, or Centre of Creativity, is located in Šentjernej and is designed as a versatile space that, in addition to its business activities, also offers space for sports societies and a restaurant.
The structure of the three-story building with a rectangular floor plan consists of a monolithic concrete basement, above which the entire load-bearing structure is made of timber. Around the perimeter of the building is a timber lattice, which, in addition to its load-bearing function, works very well with the aesthetics and gives the building a distinctive appearance. The floor sandwich is made of CLT slabs, which are additionally supported by beams and columns at the larger spans. Structure’s core is made of CLT walls.
By using wood as a primary structural material, the construction embodies a sustainable approach, promoting environmentally friendly building practices. Moreover, the extensive use of wood enhances the building’s aesthetic appeal, making it an integral visual element of the entire structure.
