The 30-metre-high control tower is the central structure of Cerklje ob Krki Airport and is unique in our region. Its sophisticated construction is one of the technological jewels of military infrastructure in this part of Europe.
The construction of the new seven-story was made with the latest technology based on minimum military standards. Its efficiency, even under difficult conditions of reduced visibility, contributes to the smooth operation of the airport, which today also accommodates the largest military cargo aircraft and is linked to civil air traffic control.
The renovation of the airport infrastructure includes a control tower, a fire rescue facility, hangars for various aircraft, a fuel depot, service facilities, and a flight school, and represents an important milestone in the development of the airport, as well as it’s versatile utility and strategic importance in both the defense and civil contexts.
