The Centre is a sophisticated and technologically demanding building. The facility is used 24 hours a day, all days a year, and must ensure top performance and comfort for the employees in their stressful and strenuous work.
The central part of the facility and its two wings are connected by a common multi-level hall, where a cafeteria, a conference room, a gym, and open spaces for informal gathering are located. Apart from the offices, the facility houses the administration section of the Brnik airport, areas for day-time and night-time rest, and training rooms.
The facility is made from reinforced concrete, divided into two parts. One part of the building is a wall-like structure carrying both the horizontal and the vertical loads, and the other part is a frame-column structure. The foundation is carried out on a grid of strip and individual footings.
The building is a symbol of the airport complex and as such boldly designed in all aspects. We implemented strict technical requirements relating to safety and energy efficiency of the facility by paying attention to the orientation of the building, developing safeguards against overheating, and introducing installation systems for the use of renewable (geothermal) energy sources. In addition to the compact structure of the building, the above measures contribute to an excellent energy efficiency of the facility.
