Reconstruction of regional road, section Lesce-Bled

The road represents a vital connection between highway Ljubljana – Jesenice (Karavanke) and tourist destinations of the Upper Carniola region. Reconstruction takes into consideration the 590 m section of the regional road between roundabout Lesce (»Avsenik«) and the intersection with Alpska Cesta towards Lesce on account of the poor shape of bridging structures and their necessary expansion.
We replaced the overpass construction that crosses the single-track railway line Ljubljana – Jesenice and the underpass of the field route.
At the same time, we also expanded regional road, which now offers a four-lane drive with better fluidity between the highway network and Bled. The longitudinal profile of the road was adjusted to the requirements of the manager of SŽ – Infrastruktura (Slovenian railways), which conditioned the higher light profile above the railway tracks concerning the modernization of the railway infrastructure.
Due to the increased traffic flow volume, we replaced the pavement structure, arranged rainwater drainage, replaced the noise barriers, added new lighting across the entire section, and horizontal and vertical traffic signalization.
