AquafilSlo, Production of polyamide filaments and granulates, Ljubljana

Elea iC has been cooperating with the chemical and textile factory Julon for decades. The changes and development of factory technology was always accompanied by changes in its layout and construction. New buildings, horizontal and vertical additions and singular adaptations were implemented through years:

– New weaving lines in existing production hall 22,0 x 16,0 x 15,0 m; y. 2004
– Multi-storey new building for new weaving lines 40,0 x 24,0 x 22,0 m; y. 2007
– Technology lines for automated transport of products in the length of 195,0m; y. 2007
– Adaptation of a multi-shelf warehouse for the new automated transport lines; y. 2007
– Erection of new silos for the primary material 3 x 100 m³ next to the granulate plant; y. 2007
– Erection of new silos for the primary material 5 x 240 m³ next to the chemical plant; y. 2007.
– Addition to the granulate plant; y. 2007
– Interception pool and pool covering for silos 700 m³; y. 2008
– New production hall for modernised and optimised production; y. 2010
– New building for TIO2 – annex to Julon 2; y. 2014
– Building for dryer of weaving lines – annex to Julon 1; y. 2015
– Enlargement weaving lines in existing production hall ; y. 2016
– Technological equipment (vessel) in the building Julon 2; y. 2017
– Modernisation of the 1200 line; 2018

Since every technological intervention has impacted the infrastructure of the whole factory, additional design work was necessary on most accompanying structures – from energy supply station to warehouses.

The buildings are constructed as skeletons of reinforced concrete. The sizes of the ground floor and the overhead dimensions are defined by the technology. Since some weaving lines and chemical processes demand a vertical workflow, the buildings have a height of 5 to 7 floors. A minor part of the buildings is steel constructions, such as opera¬tional landings in the objects and the access landings to the silos. For environmental protection, all tanks and silos are positioned inside interception pools.
