The building will be located at the southwestern edge of the industrial zone BTC in Ljubljana and is envisioned to be the defining feature of the city\u2019s skyline. The client intends to build a logistics and distribution centre, where all of the company\u2019s employees will be united on a single site: the administration in an office building and the logistics in a distribution facility.<\/p>\n
The office building is composed of two parts \u2013 a high-rise and a lower section (encompassing a store and a restaurant) \u2013 connected by a membrane in upper floors and thus creating a functionally as well as visually united entity. The building’s fa\u00e7ade is mostly glazed with fixed shades that vertically and horizontally change depending on the orientation of the building.<\/p>\n
The building is divided into public, semi-public, and private parts. The ground and first two floors as well as the store are open to visitors, the restaurant and the pavilion on the roof of the upper floors as well as the congress centre function as semi-public spaces, while the offices from the third floor up are designated as private and visitor access is limited.<\/p>\n
We designed the building with sustainability in mind; in addition to using advanced shading technology, we also introduced different types of green elements on the roofs of the complex as well as inside the building.
