Most paths were narrow, damaged, and not very functional. New, safer cycling paths are planned to solve this problem and encourage daily cycling, aiming to reduce cars in the city center.<\/p>\n<p>The footbridge connects Medvode Preska to Medvode center and then to Pirni\u010de and Vikr\u010de. It is a twin steel arch over the Sava river, spanning it without supports in the riverbed. The main span deck is composite, and the curved ramp on the left bank is reinforced concrete.<\/p>\n<p>The Sava river, Slovenia&#8217;s longest, is fragile due to its many fish species. We used an innovative method to build without disturbing the riverbed. The main span was built on-site.
